Papercraft Business Papercraft Challenge - November To give as a gift

Hi Everyone,

We have lots of new Design Team members over at Papercraft Business so we have split the team in 2, this means my new projects for them will go live mid month now. We have now entered November.. crazy! That means a new challenge over at Papercraft Business

This month Theme: To give as a gift (Not just a card)

Come and join in the challenge here.

I was a little stumped with this challenge, sometimes this happens even to the best of us.. I went out shopping with my Mum as we do most Tuesdays before picking up my Step Daughter from school (she finishes super early), anyway I went to one of our cheap junkie shops and came across these Kraft Treat Boxes. I thought they would be cool to play with and they fit the theme.

Originally when I sat down and had a think about how I was going to decorate my box my plan was to use some Christmas Stamps and go with a Christmas Theme. I picked out all the products and had them on my desk ready.. something came up and I didn't get back in my craft room for a few days. When I finally came back the Christmas Theme just wasn't working for me.. I decided I wanted to do a little Halloween Treat Box.

I really wanted to use this little Witch Marci Rubber Stamp from La La Land Crafts, for anyone who does not have the rubber stamp you can also purchase it in Digital Here.
I stamped the image out onto X-Press It Blending Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black and my Misti Stamping Tool (with the black foam mat removed).

I coloured the image up using Copic Markers, it always amazes me the amount of markers I end up using on an image :-)

Once my image was all coloured up I used my EK Success Cutterbee Scissors to fussy cut her out.

Now, putting aside my image it was box decorating time.

I left the box folded down flat and used some Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink Pads and a Mini Blending Tool and Inked up each section of the box. I had this great idea to use washi tape to cover the top and bottom of each section to not get ink everywhere (at the time I was only going to ink the front), when I tried to take the tape off it ripped all my box, I have back up boxes but was still a little annoyed haha. I decided to work with and keep on going, so I did.

I ran a few dies through my Sizzix Big Shot using American Crafts Black Card Stock.
La La Land Crafts - Grass Border and Star Border, Spider Web Cover Up, Tombstones
Neat and Tangled - Booed
Memory Box - Swooping Bats (retired die set I have linked up another one)

I used American Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive to adhere all the pieces to my box. I ran the Tombstones through a second time using some white card so I was able to inlay the words.

For my little (ok not so little) spider I added some google eyes, I did the same thing with one of the bats.

Dont forget to head over and join is in the November Challenge here,  all you have to do is use a tag.
