Papercraft Challenge DT - Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Life's A Beach

Hi Everyone,

I am super excited to share with you all that I have joined a new team, as of August I am now part of the Papercraft Business Challenge Design Team. You can check the Blog out here and there is a Facebook group here where you can chat with the Design Team and all the other members of the group.

Before I get started on my post I wanted to let you all know that they have released a Papercrafter's Dream Planner, this planner has everything you need to organise your papercrafting life - from planning out each project to keeping track of what's on when.  You can purchase the Digital File here, I will also have the picture links below.

Now let's get started on my first card share :-)

I used the Penguin Life's a Beach stamp set that I recently purchase from Scrap Dragon here in Australia, you can also purchase the stamp set directly from Whimsy Stamps here.

The theme for this month over on the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog is "Use A Circle", so I have used Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles on my card.

My card was a little all over the shop to start with whilst I was trying to put what was in my head into the project..

This is the original plan.. Slight Change is the Copic Markers which I switched out with my Faber Castell Polychromos.

I layed my stamps out onto a Couture Creations Card Base so I knew the placement I was going for, I then used a Mechanical Pencil to trace out the circle die this way I knew where they were going to cut.

I was happy with the placement so I ran the dies on the card base through my Sizzix Big Shot.

I used some Ink On 3 Black Out Detail Ink and a Lawn Fawn Acrylic Block to stamp out the images onto the inside of the card so that you could see them through the circle cut outs on the front of the card. I really just eyeballed these as I was stamping them out to make sure the placement was just right.

My original plan was actually to Copic Colour these images up and then stick them to the inside of the card but as my head and my actual production didn't match up and I ended up stamping them directly onto the card I decided to colour the images using Faber Castell Polychromos.

I will have all the pencils I used listed below so you can check them out and if you would like to re-create my project you are more than welcome - just remember to please link back to me as your inspiration :-)

Once I had all the images coloured up I went back to the front of the card. I wanted to add some more circles to my card so I used some papers from Party with Amy Locurto - Poolside Collection from Pebbles Inc, I always keep all my small leftover bits inside my paper pad so these were perfect to use for cutting these little circles. I used the same Stitched Circle die set from Lawn Fawn to cut these out and ran them through my Big Shot.

I adhered them to my card base using some American Tombow Mono Multi, I also use the sentiment "What's Up Dude" from the Stamp set onto the front of the card using Lawn Fawn Acrylic Block and just some Memento Tuxedo Black as I had that sitting on my desk from another project.

I really love the way my card turned out even though it was not what I had planned, sometimes these are the best cards :-).

Dont forget to check out the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog Here to see all the other Design Team Projects and how we have all "Used A Circle" In Different ways on our projects.
