Book Review - Dark Deceit by Lauren Dawes

Hello to all my beautiful followers! I have just finished reading Dark Deceit by Lauren Dawes. I quite enjoyed this book. A little crime fighting, a little love, and maybe a little R Rated in parts but hey sometimes a good book entales some steam hehe.

I give this book 8/10.

If u enjoy reading mythology type books then put this on your must read list, it only took me a couple of nights to read In between my kids busy schedules.

The Connection between the characters is awesome as is the storyline that goes along with them.

Korvain to me is the main character, he is sent to kill Bryn, to make way for his boss to kill Odin, and that isn't an easy thing to do when she is always covered with guards, so he needs to get into the inner circle. He begins working at the club and this allows him the access he needs, but a connection is formed and he is unsure if he can do what he was there for..

I can't wait for the next book in this series, I'm sure I will be as hooked as I was with this one, I'm already hanging in to see what happens next..

Blurb:

The time of the Aesir gods is over. Now they live among the humans in their bustling modern cities. Their brutal dominion over the gods and humans may have ended, but their actions have not been forgotten.

Korvain is feared like no other. His ruthlessness and cold heart are legendary, but when he is given the task of killing one of the most fabled goddesses of all time, he is left with an undeniable desire to make her his own. Failure in his task means only one thing: death. Will he follow his orders, or will he follow his heart?

Bryn’s whole world crumbled when she left Odin’s service to protect the other Valkyries. Now living with the humans, she is the only thing standing between them and total destruction. But her beliefs are about to be shaken to the core when she meets Korvaina completely irresistible Mare who threatens to take away more than just her innocence.

Dark Deceit Excerpt:

He lowered his head, his lips like the softest suede against her mouth. His tongue licked at her, insistent, persuasive. She opened for him, surrendered to him.

Slowly, he released her wrist, stretching her arm above her head. He did the same with her other arm, holding her there with his hot, strong fingers. With his free hand, his fingers skimmed over the tee and boxer shorts she’d worn to bed, touching her, heating her skin. Fingertips inched up the fabric, caressing her softly.

Her hips rolled forward when he reached the edge of her shorts. He smiled, flashing a monstrous set of fangs at her as he did, and dipped a finger below the elastic waist. Bryn’s whole body was alive, buzzing with so much energy she expected to see little sparks flying off her skin. Korvain purred his approval and, without releasing her wrists, climbed on top of her.

She opened up her legs to him, welcoming his weight, relishing in the touch of his body. Cradling him with her hips, she melted under him, taking him into her body like he was designed for her and her alone. Korvain released her arms, his free hand burrowing under her shirt like he needed to feel her skin.

She grabbed his thick biceps, squeezing that muscled heat. His massive shoulders moved with his deep, hungry breaths as he stared down at her. With his elbows pressed into the mattress, supporting his massive weight, he purred down into her ear. The vibration went all the way through her.

She reached out to touch his face, running her fingers along his jaw, along his bottom lip. Her eyes slid shut when his mouth crashed into hers

Wrong Kind Of Love by Amanda Heath

Genre: Contemporary New Adult
The first time I ever saw Caden Harper I’m pretty sure I fell in love.
All that golden hair and pale blue eyes. He was mysterious and covered
in paint. I found it endearing and wanted nothing more than to find
out all his secrets. I gave that man things I would never give anyone
else. He blew it though. Which I shouldn’t be surprised considering he
is a womanizer.
So I moved on, well kind of. Jaden Harper wasn’t what I expected. I
found myself drawn to him all most as much as his brother. Maybe it’s
the fact they are twins or maybe it was the fact I wanted to live on
the wrong side for once in my life.
Now I’ve found myself dug deep in this game. Theres no end in sight
and I wonder when all the lies I have told will come back to haunt me.
Neither man should know the things I’ve gone through. Neither should
trust me. I’m not who I say I am. My past is full of things I won’t
ever share.
But where will that lead me when Caden wants nothing more than to
consume me? He won’t wake up to see he has the wrong kind of love.
My Name is Grace BreadField and this is my story.

Where can I buy the book? AMAZON!
You can also check it out here on GOODREADS.

TEASER:
*18 + warning for mature content. Unedited

"I don't know why I let Teagan talk me into coming to this club/bar/whatever. I hate crowds and being surrounded by a lot of sweaty people. I fight way through them looking for her and Declan on the dance floor.
Until this song came on.
You ever had that happened to you? One second you're minding your own business and a song comes on and changes your life. It says whatever you're thinking and feeling even if you didnt know thats what you were feeling.
My hips start to sway to the beat of the music. My hands go straight up in the air. My head rocking, my hair going everywhere.
"Cause you are the piece of me, I wish I didn’t need
Chasing relentlessly, still fight and I don’t know why..." comes Clarity by Zedd over this places speaker system.
I feel him with me. His body pressed to me, his arms around my hips. His lips whispering things in my ear, naughty dirty things. Things only Caden would say to me.
"If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?
If our love’s insanity, why are you my clarity?..." Who ever wrote this song gets it. They get what I'm going through.
I'm lost in this sea of people, none of them I know. I still feel the ghost of Caden with me. Its how I know what I'm doing. What pain I'm causing him. What pain I'm causing myself.
I feel like I need him every time I'm no where near him. I wish I didn't. I'm fighting him every time I see him. I don't know why. Our entire relationship was doomed from the beginning yet it fixes me. We are insanity, the way we are together. We shouldn't work but we do. And I see the clearest when hes around.
I feel tears falling down my face as I continue to dance. I sing the lyrics at the top of my lungs. I dont care who hears or sees. I need this right now.
And just like that I feel him. I stop moving and look up. My face is damp and pulled tight. I dont care who sees, I dont care who knows. Its like I finally opened my eyes. I've wasted hours, days, months, years...
I run through the crowd to him. My Caden. I'm about a foot from touching distance, reaching for his hand when Jaden steps in front of me."-Grace, Wrong Kind of Love

Dt Male Challenge - Billy Boy

Good Afternoon!
I am in such a happy mood at the moment, for those of you who are beginning to know me and my work well, I am not a big male/boy card maker lol. I like bling, bows, ribbon and flowers!

About a week ago I coloured this gorgeous image of Billy.

However, after colouring him I misplaced him :-( I have not yet had a chance to sit down and colour up another one. My parents came over for dinner a few days ago and my Mum found him hiding under a pillow on an unused lounge :-) I couldn't believe it as it took me hours to search all my craft room looking for him with no luck hahah.

Today I finally sat down and put him onto a card and I am so so happy with it that of course I had to rush on and share him with my bloggers :-)

I am so lucky to be on the Fitztown Design Team so thought of a gorgeous card I could make using one of the Fitztown images I was given a while back (that I thought was so not my style) that I thought I would never use as I don't often make male cards.

Book Review - Kathleen Creighton The Prince and The Patriot

My Book Reviews
Kathleen Creighton - The Prince & The Patriot

I Thoroughly enjoyed this book and gave it 4/5 rating on Good Reads. I think it did take me a couple of pages to get into it as i'm not a big history buff but wow was it intense and I love every minute of it.

Nicholas is a Professor and Willa is a student, they meet dislike each other at first but that's just the beginning. It's a bit hard to tell you too much without ruining the storyline for you all.

It is definately worth purchasing.

You can purchase this book from here.
You can find out more about Kathleen on her web page here.

See the book here on Good Reads
